Once a year, the Science Scavenger Hunt (Wissenschaftsrallye) for schoolchildren takes place in Bonn-Poppelsdorf. The event is organized by the Young University of the University of Bonn and is aimed at students aged 13 to 19 who want to get a taste of university life and get to know various institutes at the University of Bonn.
This year, the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology together with the DFG-funded Priority Program SPP2453 also took part in the popular Science Scavenger Hunt and offered a station at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. There, students were able to separate felt-tip pen colors using paper chromatography and solve puzzles about cell organelles and laboratory methods.
The day was a complete success, with over 200 young people visiting the station and solving the puzzles. Science is fascinating and fun!
